Art,Culture & Recreation

Bronzeville is where culture lives in its rich artistic history in music, literature, visual arts, dance, and more. Our neighborhood hosts a variety of community assets, including parks, recreational facilities, one of the largest Black Art Districts in the country, nationally recognized universities, and many historic landmarks.  Most recent assets include the National Monument to Ida B. Wells and the architecturally stunning pedestrian bridges connecting the lakefront to the neighborhood on 41st and 43rd Street.

Art, Culture & Recreation

QCDC aims to support and participate in maintaining and growing areas and
assets where our residents can thrive.

Since 2005, QCDC has been the caretaker of Park 43, an open-to-the-public green space for youth activities, community gathers, recreation, and entertainment events.  Annual area-wide events such as Bronzeville Summer Nights, Shop Local Bronzeville, Open Boulevards, the Windows partnership with the Art Institute of Chicago, and others are QCDC initiatives and investments designed to honor the culture and gather the community.

Discover, create, and explore Bronzeville where art and recreation come together to inspire!
